Name: Rebekah Gumm
Title: Worship Leader
Why are you in ministry? I have been given the opportunity to share my passion about the Lord and worship with a group of people I love dearly; it’s a joy.  My hope is to learn and teach this congregation more about worship.  When we worship increasingly, and the Lord responds increasingly, our faith will grow; our children and our grandchildren will feel the presence of the Holy Spirit and know they are serving a living and active God.  (Romans 15:13 AMP: “May the God of hope fill you will all joy and peace in believing [THROUGH THE EXPERIENCE OF YOUR FAITH] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will ABOUND in hope and OVERFLOW with CONFIDENCE in His promises.”)  Simply put: When we experience the one and only Living and Active God; we trust Him more; Worship is a way to experience the Lord.
What do you do with your spare time?  WHAT SPARE TIME! lol…In my spare time I hang with my family; I love to travel and immerse myself in nature or a wonderful coffee shop.
What inspires you? I’m inspired by honesty; honest emotion, honest action, and honest relationship.  As a christian, there’s nothing I appreciate more than the realization that I’m not alone in feeling elated and discouraged, worthless and worthy, and/or everything in between.  I am inspired by seeing the Lord move powerfully in big and little things.  I’m inspired by change; watching God orchestrate lives, both beautifully and through tragedy – seeing how He can use willing people…That’s what inspires me.
What is one thing you’d like to see changed about yourself? I’l love to change…”I tend to be a bit distractible.  I would love to stay more focused.”
Who is your hero? Jesus (Cliche)…The person who discovered the value of a burnt coffee bean (too shallow?).   My nephew who is battling Leukemia and his parents.
What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you? One day, I want to be a literary writer.
