April 11 | How Do I Trust That God is Good?

How Do I Trust that God is Good?
Romans 8:28

To trust someone is to believe in them.

Walking through life is a trust thing.

  • I have to believe that each day God has his best and good for my life

Proverbs 3:5 NIV “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.”

If I haven’t given my heart to God, then how can I trust him?

Faith in God/faith in Christ is a trust thing.

  • Will I believe that he loves me
  • Will I commit my heart and soul to him
  • Will I trust that his ways are good and right
  • Will I believe that good will come about by giving my life into his hands

The key to this verse is:

  • Having a working, living relationship with God
  • Knowing that all that you have, all that is around you, God will use to work in my life
  • Knowing that God is at work
  • Knowing that as he works, it is his good that will be accomplished
  • Knowing that God has a purpose for my life

Trust comes because I believe that what he says about me is true. Eph. 1:4 NIV

  • That means I am more important, more valuable to him than creation itself

My place in his heart has always been the most important thing to God.

He so valued my place with him that he wanted me to spend eternity with him. Eph. 1:13-14 NIV

“Those who are God’s possession.”

Heaven was purchased for me by the cross of Jesus. 1 Thess. 5:9 NIV

I am royalty in God’s house. 1 Peter 2:9 NIV

My life brings praise to his name.

Thought: God has put his trust, his glory into me.

Psalms 13 NIV David is crying out to God, “When does all of this end?”

It is the old question, “Why me?”

Note: vs. 5 “But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.”

Why? Because love is the basis of God’s nature.

Why? Because he is my salvation in this matter.

I will make my heart to sing.

I can either choose to be angry, hateful or even revengeful. Or I can choose to sing to the Lord

Why? Because I believe he has been good to me.

  1. Do I believe God is in control of my life
  2. Do I trust that he has his good in mind for me
  3. Am I willing to believe that all things do work out for my good

It all depends on if I trust that God is good. 2 Thess. 2:13-17 TLB
