Grace: God’s Riches

October 10, 2021

God’s Riches

Ephesians 1:8-10

“God’s riches are lavished on us resulting in his wisdom and understand being a part of our new life.”

God’s Riches. What are they?

  1. Love: The very reason that God created you.
  • In love he chose
  • He predetermined your relationship with him
  • In love God loved you first
  • It was his move that moved your heart

Love is the universal language.

Love: breaks hard hearts; melts the difficult souls; unleashes the ability to care, comfort, and it can sustain a person’s well-being.

Love drives a person to accomplish great endeavors.

Love always outshines hate.

You cannot out love someone.

Note: 1 Cor. 13:4-8 TLB

  1. Grace: Grace is God extending his love, his favor, and his compassion upon the object that does not deserve it.

Grace is God overcoming the attack of sin, the damage of evil, and extending his mercy and love to us.

Sin devastates

  • Grace reconstructs our lives

Evil only destroys

  • Grace always restores our lives

Grace leads us through each day as we become more like Jesus.

Grace is a gift.

Grace and love are packaged together.

  • Love is what gives grace its value
  • Grace is what gives love its power and authority

A grateful love transforms a heart.

A loving grace soothes the pain of our guilt, our fears, and our hopelessness.

All of this God did for us when he lavished on us his wisdom and his understanding so that we might be able to comprehend the mystery of his will.

  1. What is the mystery?

Note: vs. 10 “…to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.”

Yes, the world is confused today.

Yes, it does seem as though God has left the building.

Yes, we are more confused today than we have been in a long time.

Yes, things just aren’t adding up.

Yes, life isn’t making sense.

But God has a plan.

  • He has always had one

When God’s plans come to fulfillment, he will right all the wrongs.

One day, in God’s perfect timing, it will all come together.

So what  is our hope?

  • God has it all together.

What is our peace?

  • God’s will is going to come to pass

What is God doing today?

  • He is making known his mystery
  • Salvation is still being offered to mankind

The work of the cross is still effective today.

It is his “Good pleasure” to offer his love and grace to us.

Why? Because that is what he does.

It is the character of God to love.

1 John 4:7-12 NIV

This is the mystery, that God lives in us, and his love is made complete in us.
