Ephesians 3:2-7

For God’s people, Israel, there had always been this mystery.

• It was taught by the Ancient Prophets
• It seemed that their message was the same
  • A King was coming
  • A Messiah to lead the people back to God
  • He would bring peace and stability
  • He would establish his Kingdom forever
  • His rule would be sovereign

Note vs. 6 “This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together f one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.”

What is the promise in Christ?

Note: Romans 15:7-13 NIV 

This promise or mystery was called, “The body of Christ.”

A body represents unity.

• It works together
• It has one purpose
• It protects itself
• When one part hurts, the whole body feels it
• It works together to overcome any obstacles

Paul says that there is absolute equality in the body

• 1 Cor. 12:12-27 NIV

Everything that was promised by the Ancient Prophets came about because of Jesus.

• Galatians 3:14; Ephesians 1:13-14 NIV

Conclusion

We have been included in the message of Christ.

We are sealed with the Holy Spirit.

He is deposited into our lives.

Salvation is being offered to all people.

This mystery, hidden for centuries, is now a present truth to each of us.

• You can be a part of the body of Christ
• You can be filled with the Holy Spirit
• You are the answer to one of the greatest mysteries of all times
