Life’s Plans

Ephesians 3:1

It is during the uncertain times of life that we can see God work his master plan of salvation.

To walk by grace is to allow Christ to be the leader in your heart and life.

There is no such thing as failure when we are walking in the will of God.

Difficult times teach us:

  • To mature
  • To trust
  • To develop our faith
  • It will shape our lives into the glory of God

Notice what Paul says: “For this reason”

  • Cause
  • On account of
  • To be in favor of

This is in the passive voice.

  • Because of his testimony
  • Because of his preaching
  • Because of the gospel Paul was put in prison.

Note: Acts 21:27-36

Note: “For the sake of the Gentiles”

Remember who Paul is.

  • Acts 22:3-5 NIV

Paul or Saul was a devote Jew.

He was totally sold out to the Law…until Christ came into his life and changed everything.

  • His life
    • Fulfilling of the O.T. prophecies about the Messiah
  • His teachings
    • Jesus was God in the flesh
    • He was the fulfillment of the Law
  • His death
    • Shedding his blood for the sins of all mankind
  • His resurrection
    • Overcoming death
    • An action that only God can do
  • His ascension
    • The promise of his return
  1. Do you have a reason?
  • A course
  • A love for Christ that is causing you pain and suffering
  1. What do you live for?
  • What are you sold out to?
  • What is driving your heart and soul?

Paul saw his persecution as God’s perfect plan for his life.

  • He would speak to hundreds
  • He would get to address: (Acts 24-28)
    • Governor Felix of Judea
    • King Agrippa of Northern Galilee

And tradition teaches that he died in Rome.

  • Perhaps Emperor Nero heard his message
  1. How do you see your trials of life?

Be willing to use them for the opportunity to spread God’s love and grace.
