dividerValues

All our programs are implemented with the following values:

  • Relational Ministry:  We believe that like all people, children are created in the image of God and are called to relationship with Jesus.  Children are placed in small groups and are led by a loving and caring small group leader.  We do everything we can to keep our ratios of kids to adults small so we can facilitate relationships.  If your child has special needs, we also have a Superhero Sidekick Program where children are assigned a one-on-one buddy, so they feel safe and loved.
  • Be Present:  We train our team of small group leaders to be consistently present in the lives of children spiritually, emotionally and physically.  We want kids to know there is someone else in their corner.
  • Creating a Safe Place:  Safety is extremely important to the Hillside Kids Team.  Our check-in system requires parents to pick up their child with a matching tag for their physical safety.  We also want kids to feel valued and loved; free to ask questions and share doubts, so our small group leaders ensure that your child is emotionally safe, as well.
  • Partnering with Parents:  Since parents have the biggest influence in the life of their child, we want to resource parents with tools to help them build a life of faith in their child.  We recommend that parents download the Parent Cue App for free.  We also send home monthly Parent Cue cards, God Time Cards for kids and provide articles of encouragement on our Hillside.kids Facebook and Instagram pages.
  • Moving them Out:  Statistics show that a child’s faith is more likely to stick if we teach them to BE the church, not just Go to church.  That’s why we help provide opportunities to serve through our Kids Crew, Big Serve camp and more.

Please let us know if you have any questions regarding our values or their implementation.
