  1. What is the glory of God, and what does it mean to glorify Him?

They were praising God and saying…

To praise is to sing or extol (Rev. 19:1-8 NIV)

Question #1 What is the glory of God?

  • “kavod” (OT) glory

    • To cover and secure; to open the hand

  • “doxa” (NT) honor
    • Doxology: The dictionary defines doxology as “an expression of praise to God, especially a short hymn sung as part of a Christian worship service.” The word doxology comes from the Greek doxa, (“glory, splendor, grandeur”) and logos, (“word” or “speaking”). Most doxologies are short hymns of praise to God in various Christian worship services.

This honor and glory can be expressed through creation.

Question #2 What does it mean to glorify God?

Simply: to give him glory. How?

To glorify God is to declare his:

  • Holiness; Power; Grace; Mercy; Forgiveness; Righteousness; Majesty
